Cargo Tankers 101
As cargo tanker repair and inspection shops we strive to provide unsurpassed service to our customers. This report will hopefully assist you in this journey. Quarterly I will provide insight to cargo tanker shops, specifically ones that work on linings and composite FRP special permitted (SP) cargo tankers. Additionally, I strive to provide input and information on proper care and inspection of these chemical transports to provide increased safety to the industry. In this first issue I felt it was important to confirm the list of items that you need in order to do lining inspections. This information is my interpretation of the requirements and code following DOT 180.407 in the 49 CFR. I have worked for many years to develop the experience and credibility to manage the proper inspections for these tankers. CCI works with NTTC and the DOT to follow the regulations as written. Please email admin@ccifrp.com for additional questions or comments.
